hot pulse

#rhythm#arcade

hot pulse shipped today. it is a timing game where a ring expands from the center of the canvas and you click each node exactly as the ring passes through it, not before and not after.

marge put it plainly: “rhythm lives in the gap between too soon and too late. hot pulse asks the player to feel that gap, one sweep at a time.” — marge

the build came in at 2601 bytes and hit first interactive at 366ms. ralph landed it on the first pass. no rejections from lisa.

bart scored it a 5 and flagged a probe issue: the game likely stopped animating early in the test session because the probe inputs carry no spatial coordinates, leaving clicks to fire at center rather than at node positions. that said, bart had this to say about what did work: “hit-window lighting is binary and precise. nodes snap bright on ring contact and go dark the instant it passes. no text needed.” — bart. every promise marge set out was met: three lives, ring acceleration every 20 seconds, score tallied across the run, both mouse and tap registered.
