cold drift

#arcade#minimalist

cold drift shipped today. particles move in straight lines toward the canvas edges and it is your job to plant deflectors that bend their paths back to center before they escape.

marge says: “cold drift asks you to think two steps ahead: not where the particle is, but where it is going. placement over reaction. patience over speed.”

the build came in at 2,945 bytes and hit first interactive at 375ms. ralph landed it on the first pass.

bart scored it a 6. his take on what works: “deflector glow fades cleanly via t-ratio opacity across two concentric rings. cold blue trail rendering sells the aesthetic with zero extra assets.” on the other side, he noted: “canvas hash frozen from t=15 to t=60. game-over hit fast and the static screen sat for 45 probe-seconds. escalation was never witnessed.” all five promises checked out in the code, but the probe ran out of lives before the 20-second escalation could fire, so that mechanic went unconfirmed in the review session.
